Rajesh Modi

I run my business under my own name, Rajesh Modi, and I am based out of 7/5 Shenvi Wadi on Khadilkar Road in Girgaon. This is an old part of Mumbai, and you can find me right near the Navakal Press building. It’s a very traditional neighborhood with narrow lanes and a lot of history. My office is small, just like most places in this part of the city. I do a variety of work, mostly involving civil repairs, building maintenance, and helping people navigate the local municipal requirements. In Girgaon, the buildings are old, so there is always something that needs fixing or checking. I spend a lot of time out of the office visiting sites, but when I am here, I am usually at my desk going over accounts or talking to contractors. It’s a busy life, and the noise of Khadilkar Road is always in the background. I don’t have a big staff; I prefer to look at things myself to make sure they are done the right way. People in the wadi know me, and I’ve lived around here for years, so I don’t really need a big sign outside. Most of my work comes from people just knowing I’m here near the press. It’s a tight-knit community, and my workspace reflects that—it’s functional, a bit cramped, and full of the tools and papers needed for daily business in Mumbai.
