Rajesh Kerkar

My name is Rajesh Kerkar and I’m based at Shivneri, which is room 1/30 on Dadasaheb Phalke Road in Dadar. If you know Mumbai-14, you know it’s the heart of the city in many ways. This building has been around for ages and it has that old-school Mumbai charm. It’s not always the quietest place to work, especially with the traffic and the people on Dadasaheb Phalke Road, but there’s an energy here that you don’t find anywhere else. I don't have a big team or a fancy office setup. It's just a small space where I keep all my records and do my daily work. I’ve been in Dadar for a long time, and I like that I can just walk out the door and find everything I need within five minutes. My way of working is pretty straightforward. I don't use a lot of technology if I can help it; I prefer a good pen and a thick ledger. People stop by sometimes just to chat or ask for advice, and I usually have a pot of tea ready. It’s not a high-pressure environment here. I just try to do right by the people I work with and make sure I don't fall behind. Life in Shivneri is busy but good. We’re just regular people doing our part in this big city, and we don’t try to act like we’re more than that.
