Rajasthan Perfumers

If you’ve ever walked through Crawford Market, you know how loud and crowded it gets. Rajasthan Perfumers is tucked right at number 395, deep inside where the smells of spices and everything else mix together. It’s a small shop, really, filled with bottles and glass. We’ve been sitting in this same spot for quite a while now. The market is always moving, people pushing carts and shouting, but inside our four walls, things are a bit slower. We spend the day filling small vials and talking to the regulars who have been coming to us for years. It’s mostly just us handling the stock and making sure nothing breaks in the chaos of the market. Sometimes the electricity flickers, or the rain leaks through the roof when the monsoon hits hard, but we just put a bucket down and keep going. We don't have a big fancy showroom or anything like that. It’s just shelves stacked high with different scents we’ve put together. Usually, someone is sitting on a stool near the front, waiting for the next delivery to arrive from the warehouse. It’s a busy life being in the heart of Mumbai’s trade, but we like the energy of the place. You meet all kinds of people here. We just try to keep things simple and make sure every customer gets what they asked for without a fuss. The old wooden door creaks every time someone walks in, but we never got around to fixing it.
