Pwc

Our place is Flat Number 3 in the B Wing of the Prerna Mandir Co-operative Society. It’s located in Santacruz West, which is a lively part of Mumbai. Being in a residential society means it feels more like a home than a stiff office. We like that. Pwc is the name we use, and we’ve been here for a good number of years. The room has big windows that let in some light, though we usually keep the curtains half-drawn against the sun. We have a small table where we keep the kettle and some biscuits. Most of our day is spent handling the paperwork and answering emails. It’s just two or three of us here most days. We don't go in for big meetings or corporate talk. We just discuss what needs to happen over a cup of chai and then get to it. The society is quiet enough during the day when everyone else is at their own jobs. Sometimes the doorbell rings and it’s just a delivery or a neighbor. We keep to ourselves mostly. Santacruz is a convenient location because the market is close by if we need anything. We don’t have a big sign outside, so you have to know where you are going to find us. It’s a simple setup for a simple business. We just take it one day at a time here. That’s the way we’ve always done it, year after year.
