We are tucked away in shop number 14 at the Ajay Shopping Center on T. H. Kataria Marg. If you are familiar with the Matunga area, you have probably walked past us a dozen times without realizing it. The shopping center is an older building and it has that specific smell of old paper and dust. Our shop is packed floor to ceiling with stock. It is a bit of a maze in here, to be honest. We have tried organizing it a hundred times, but whenever a new shipment comes in, things just end up wherever they can fit. We handle all sorts of trading goods, so you never really know what is going to be on the top of the pile on any given day. My father started this place, and I have been here since I was a kid. It is a family-run kind of thing. We do not have a website or anything like that. We just rely on the people who live nearby or the regulars who have been coming to us for decades. The fan in the corner squeaks all day long, and the chairs are a bit worn out, but it is a comfortable place to work. We spend our time talking to customers, writing out bills by hand, and making sure we have not run out of the basics. It is not a high-tech operation, but we know our business and we know the people who buy from us. That is enough to keep us going.
