Premal Company

Premal Company is situated in Masjid Bunder West, in Office Number 22 on the 2nd floor. The building is J R Sh, and like most buildings in this part of Mumbai, it’s very packed together. The stairs are narrow and a bit steep, so you have to watch your step when you're carrying boxes. Masjid Bunder is a place where you can find almost anything if you know which lane to turn into. The air always smells like spices and old paper. Our office is quite cramped with all the ledgers and stationery we’ve gathered over the years. It isn't a modern office with glass walls; it’s more about wooden desks and heavy cupboards. Sometimes the noise from the street below is so loud you have to shout to be heard, but that’s just how it is here. I’ve been working in this area for a long time and I've seen shops come and go. We have a small window that looks out onto the street, but there’s not much of a view, just other buildings. I usually spend the morning going through the mail and talking to the people who drop by. It’s a busy environment and there is always something to be done. We don't have a fancy coffee machine, just a guy who brings tea in small glasses. It’s a basic setup but it works for us.
