You can find Pratap Sons Jewellers on the 1st Floor of 235, Zaveri Bazar. If you’ve ever been to Zaveri Bazar, you know how packed the streets get. People are everywhere, and there’s always someone hauling a heavy bag. Our place at 235 is up a flight of stairs that are a bit steep. We’ve been at this spot for quite a while. Inside Pratap Sons Jewellers, we have some older wooden cabinets and a few chairs for visitors. The windows don’t open much because of the dust from the street below, so it can get a bit stuffy if the AC isn’t running. We mostly just focus on the jewelry pieces on our desks. It’s a lot of sitting and looking through magnifying glasses. The walls are painted a dull white, and we have a few pictures of our family hanging up. We don’t really have any fancy displays like the big shops on the ground floor. We prefer the quiet of the first floor. It feels more private. Sometimes we can hear the rain hitting the roof really loudly during the monsoon. We usually have some snacks in the drawer for when the afternoon hunger hits. It’s just a normal day at 235, Zaveri Bazar, doing the same things we’ve done for years. We aren't trying to be anything special, just keeping the business going. We usually walk to the station together after we lock up the main door.
