I spend most of my day here in Flat 204 at Shraddha Niketan. It’s a quiet spot in Borivali West, just off the main road and not far from the Opera House area. The room isn't huge, but it fits what I need. Usually, I'm at my desk by nine. You can hear the neighborhood waking up through the window. There’s a specific creak in the floor by the door that I’ve stopped noticing until someone visits. I handle everything myself, from the phone calls to the sorting through files. Sometimes the internet acts up, so I take a walk down to the tea stall nearby. It’s just how it is. People know where to find me. Borivali has changed a lot over the years, more buildings and more traffic, but this corner stays pretty much the same. I have got a few old chairs for when people drop in to talk. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but they hold up the shelves just fine. I don't go for anything fancy. The work gets done on this table, under the old fan that hums when it’s on the highest setting. It’s a simple setup for the kind of things I do here. Nothing too complicated, just daily tasks and keeping track of details. I like the morning light in this part of Borivali. It makes the office feel a bit bigger than it actually is. That's about it really.
