Popular Tyres is located right across from the municipal pumping station in the Chembur and Nalasopara area. It is a spot where you see a lot of different vehicles every day. We spend a lot of time looking at rubber and dealing with punctures that people pick up on the local roads. The air compressor is usually running in the background which makes it hard to hear sometimes. It is a greasy job and our hands are rarely clean by the end of the shift. We have piles of tires everywhere, some new and some that have seen better days. When the weather gets hot, the smell of rubber is quite strong around here. People come in when they have a flat or if they feel their car pulling to one side. We just look at what is wrong and try to fix it so they can get back on the road. It is a straightforward kind of place without any big decorations or anything like that. We have been here for some time now and most of the local drivers know the shop. Sometimes we just sit outside for a minute when it is quiet to watch the traffic go by. Dealing with wheels is what we know. It is steady work even if it is a bit messy most of the time. We keep the tools where we can find them and just get on with the daily tasks.
