You can find us way down in South Mumbai at Cuffe Parade. We are in Maker Tower K, up on the 9th floor at number 91. It’s a famous building, so most taxi drivers know it. The area is quite different from the suburbs; it’s a bit more formal, but our office is still pretty relaxed. We have a view of the sea if you lean out the window a bit. We spend our days in the lab, working on various projects. It’s a lot of testing and trying things out. The office has that smell of old paper and electronics. We have a small corner for making tea and coffee, which is where most of the talking happens. Since we are in Maker Tower, the security is tight, but once you’re inside our doors, it’s just a normal workspace. We have desks cluttered with gadgets and notebooks. We don't really do the whole suit-and-tie thing unless we absolutely have to. Most of us have been working here for a while, so we’ve become like a small family. It gets quiet in the afternoons when everyone is focused. Then, around five, things pick up again as we finish for the day. It’s a good spot to be, even if the commute to Cuffe Parade can be long for those living up north. We just show up, do our work, and head back out into the city.
