Phataknitin

Our place is at 65/E, inside the Ranjara Bhuvan building here in Mumbai. It’s not one of those glass towers you see in the magazines. It is just an old, sturdy building where we have been for years. Phataknitin is basically a few of us trying to keep things running. We don’t have a big corporate structure. Most days, it is just about answering the phone and getting the paperwork sorted. The Mumbai humidity can be a bit much, but we have a couple of fans that do the trick. We have a small kettle in the corner for tea, which helps us get through the afternoons. The street outside is always noisy with cars and people walking to the station, but you get used to it after a while. We aren't trying to change the world or anything like that. We just want to do a decent job for the people who come to us. Our desks are usually piled with files and random notes. It might look messy to someone else, but we know where everything is. We don’t spend money on fancy marketing or advertisements. People just find us through word of mouth or by seeing the small sign we have outside. It is a very simple way of doing things, and it has worked for us so far. We just show up every morning, do what needs to be done, and then head home like everyone else in this city.
