Pc Works

Getting up to the third floor of Chikhal House can be a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up, but we're here at Pc Works anyway. We are at Plot No-455 on Kalbadevi Road, right near the Titan Showroom. Marine Lines is always a busy area so there's always something going on outside. We mostly deal with laptops and desktops that have seen better days. A lot of people bring in stuff that’s completely jammed up. We sit here and go through the hardware, cleaning out dust and checking the boards. It’s quiet work mostly. The office is a bit cramped because we have so many old monitors stacked in the corner. We keep saying we will clear them out but we never do. You never know when you might need a specific cable or a screw from an old casing. It’s just me and a couple of others working here. We don't have a fancy reception desk or anything. Just come in and talk to whoever isn't holding a soldering iron at that moment. We try to get things back to people as fast as we can. Sometimes the parts take a few days to arrive from the warehouse. We just call and let you know. That’s how it goes. Most of our day is just diagnosing errors and trying to find the cheapest way for the customer to get their machine back. It's practical work.
