Patni Computer

You’ll find Patni Computer over in Kanjurmarg East, inside the Uthkarshawadi Society at 3 11. Mumbai is a crowded city, and this little pocket in 400042 is where we’ve set up our base. The society itself is a mix of people living and a few small businesses like ours tucked away. Our room is packed with gear—monitors, keyboards, and several stacks of paper that really should be filed away better. There is a small window that lets in some light, but mostly we rely on the fluorescent tubes on the ceiling. It’s not the most glamorous place to work, but it suits us just fine. We have a small table where we keep the kettle and some biscuits for when we take a break. The sounds of the neighborhood, like kids playing or someone shouting for a delivery, come through the walls sometimes. We just focus on the computer work and try to stay on top of the tasks. It’s a very straightforward way of doing things. We don't have any big missions or fancy mottos. We just come in, do the work that needs doing, and go home. Some days the Mumbai humidity makes everything feel a bit sticky, but we just keep the fan going and keep at it. It’s a local business run by regular people who know their way around a motherboard.
