Parichay Gift

Our little shop is at A 4 Lakshmi Nivas on N Joshi Road. It’s right there in Wadala, though some people say it’s more towards the West side near Byculla. It’s an old building, but it has a lot of character. We’ve been here for quite some time now. Most mornings I spend about twenty minutes just getting the dust off the shelves because the road outside is always busy with trucks and rickshaws. We have all sorts of things that people might need for a birthday or a small celebration. It isn't a huge mall store, just a regular place where you can walk in and look around without anyone hovering over your shoulder. Sometimes the ceiling fan makes a bit of a clicking noise, but we’ve gotten used to it. The neighbors are good people, and we often chat while I’m opening up the shop. We don't really have a big staff, just a couple of us who know where everything is kept. If someone asks for something we don't have, we usually know where they can find it nearby. It’s a simple way to spend the day. People in Wadala are usually in a hurry, so we try to be quick. The sun hits the front window pretty hard in the afternoon, so we have to keep the blinds down halfway. It's just a normal shop on a normal street. We keep the inventory changing so there's always something new to see.
