Pankaj Mercantile Company

Our office is over in Everest House on Suren Road. Being in Andheri East means it’s always crowded outside. Pankaj Mercantile Company has been in unit 101 for a long time. We have a few old desks and some computers that have seen better days. It’s a lot of phone calls and paperwork here. People are always coming in and out with different documents. The elevator in this building can be slow, so a lot of us just take the stairs. We deal with various trading activities and it keeps us on our toes. Sometimes the air conditioning struggles during the peak of summer, but we manage. We aren't trying to be anything we’re not. It’s just a straightforward place where we handle our business. Most of the staff has been with us for years. We know the tea stall downstairs really well. We spend our mornings sorting through emails and the afternoons making sure everything is packed or shipped correctly. It's a bit of a maze in this part of Andheri with all the narrow lanes and traffic. We just keep our heads down and do the work. There’s always something that needs fixing or a client calling about a late delivery. We just take it one day at a time and try to keep things moving. We don't have any fancy plants or art on the walls, just the stuff we need to get through the day's tasks. It’s a noisy building but we don’t mind it much anymore.
