Ornate Impex Exports

Ornate Impex Exports is tucked away at 71/C inside the Kasturchand Mill Compound. If you know Dadar (West), you know how crowded it gets around here. The compound has a lot of history to it. It’s one of those old Mumbai spots that hasn’t changed much while everything else around it got taller and newer. Finding 71/C can be a bit tricky for people visiting the first time because the numbering in the mill area is a bit of a mess. We’ve had our spot here for quite some time. The walls are thick and it stays relatively cool even when the humidity is high outside. There is always the sound of some truck loading or unloading nearby. It’s a working area, not a place for lounging around. Dadar is the heart of the city for us. You can hear the trains if it’s quiet enough, but it rarely is. We share the space with other small businesses and everyone just minds their own business. The gate to the compound is usually busy with people coming from the station. We like it here because it feels real. No glass towers, just brick and concrete and a lot of work getting handled every day. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the entrance, but we just put a bucket down and keep moving. That is just life at Ornate Impex in the old mill grounds. It’s home.
