Not Employeed

Being based out of 22 Goldmist on Gulmohar Road is a bit of a mix. Jvpd Scheme is always busy, and there’s always some noise from the street below us. I’m on the 1st floor, so I see everyone walking by. Under the name Not Employeed, I’ve just been figuring things out from this spot in Mumbai. Divya Mehta is the main contact here. The building isn't brand new, but it’s sturdy and keeps the rain out during the monsoon months. Sometimes the elevator acts up, so I just take the stairs since it’s only one flight. Living and working in Mumbai 49 means you get used to the fast pace, but inside the flat, things are a lot slower. I keep my books on the shelf and a small table for the laptop. It’s not some big operation with a lobby and a receptionist. It’s just a home that doubles as a workspace. The tea stall down the road is where I get most of my breaks. You meet all kinds of people there. The Gulmohar Road area has changed a lot over the years, with new shops opening up and old ones closing down. We stay the same, though. Just keeping at it every day. It’s a bit cramped with all the files, but it’s home. We don't have a sign outside or anything. You just have to know which doorbell to ring at Goldmist and hope we are in.
