Nitin Hari Chandani Voice Artist

Nitin Hari Chandani is usually what people call me, and I’ve been working out of this spot in Andheri West for a while. Being a voice artist means I spend a lot of time tucked away in a quiet room while the rest of the world is shouting outside. This place is right in the middle of everything near Mamulpet and the market, specifically in the Kanwood Apartment building over in Lokhandwala. If you know this area, you know it never really sleeps. There is always a scooter honking or someone yelling across the street, but once I step inside M 405, it gets a bit quieter. I set this place up because it was close to where things happen in the industry. It’s not some big corporate studio with glass walls and assistants. It’s just me and my equipment and a lot of soundproofing foam stuck to the walls. Some of the foam is starting to peel at the corners, but it still does the job. My days are mostly spent talking to a microphone and then editing those files on a screen that’s probably too bright for my eyes. It’s a strange way to make a living, but I enjoy the quiet of the booth. Living and working here in Andheri means I don’t have to travel far for anything, which is good because the traffic on the main road is always a nightmare.
