Nisarg Nursery

Nisarg Nursery is right here on Vallabhbhai Road in Vile Parle West. Most people know this stretch near Ekarajapura Sidlagatta Road because it gets quite crowded in the evenings. We’ve been tending to these plants for quite some time now. It’s a lot of manual work, honestly. Every morning starts with checking the soil and seeing what needs water. We aren't a big commercial garden center, just a local spot where things grow. Sometimes the humidity in Mumbai makes the plants go wild, and other times we’re fighting to keep them green. Our space is tucked away, so you have to keep an eye out for the green gate. We spend most of our day with dirt under our fingernails and moving pots around to catch the sunlight. It’s a bit messy, especially during the monsoon when everything turns into mud. We like the quiet parts of the day before the traffic really picks up. Customers usually come by asking for something small for their balcony or a bit of fertilizer. We don't have a computer system or anything; we just know where everything is kept. It’s just us and the plants out here on the road. It isn't a perfect garden, but it’s our workplace. We just keep planting and hoping for the best.
