Nirnand Enterprises

Vile Parle East has a certain feel to it, and being located at the Mulji Mistry Building on 80 E fits right in with that. It’s an old-school kind of place, and we’ve been running Nirnand Enterprises from here for quite some time. Our space isn’t very large, but we make it work. We handle various supplies and trading items, so there are always boxes being shifted from one corner to another. Some mornings start early when the tempo arrives with new stock, and we have to move fast before the street gets too crowded. The building has that classic Mumbai character, where everyone knows everyone’s business. We share a lot of laughs with the guys in the neighboring offices over some cutting chai from the stall downstairs. It’s a practical environment. We don’t spend much on decorations or fancy furniture; we’d rather have more room for the goods. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook, and other times it’s just us catching up on some manual bookkeeping. People stop by to ask for prices or to see if we have something specific in stock. We try to be honest about what we have and what we can get. It’s a bit dusty sometimes, and the stairs can be a climb, but this is where we work. We just keep things moving along day by day without making much of a fuss. We’re just regular people trying to make a living in a busy city and keeping the shop going.
