Nielsen Bases

Our office is at 86 2 Balamurali CHS, which is part of Chheda Nagar in the Chembur area of Mumbai. It’s a cooperative housing society, so it’s a very community-focused kind of place to work. Nielsen Bases has been here for a while, and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the neighborhood. Chembur is a busy part of the city, but Chheda Nagar feels a bit more settled. Our space isn't huge. It’s basically just enough room for our team and the equipment we use every day. We don't have any of that modern office furniture you see in magazines. Most of our stuff is stuff we’ve had for years. It’s comfortable and it works. People in the society know us, and we see the same faces every morning when we come in. There is always the sound of traffic nearby, but that’s just Mumbai for you. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting lounge. If someone comes by, they just knock on the door and one of us lets them in. We spend most of our hours looking at screens and talking through our projects. It’s a very down-to-earth way to run things. We don't use fancy jargon or try to sound more important than we are. We are just a small crew in Chembur 89 making a living and doing our jobs the best way we know how. It’s a simple life here. We have a couple of cupboards that are always sticking and the floor is worn.
