Neha Jagtap

Down in Ghatkopar East at 102, things are usually pretty steady for Neha Jagtap. It’s a small space, more of a personal work area than a big commercial office, but it serves the purpose just fine. I spend most of my time here sitting at the desk or dealing with people who drop by for a chat about what they need. The building isn't the newest on the block, so there’s always a little bit of maintenance going on somewhere, which adds to the noise. I’ve lived and worked in this part of Mumbai for long enough to know the rhythms of the street outside. I don’t have a big staff or a marketing plan to show off. Most of the work comes from being consistent and just showing up every day to do what’s required. There are books on the shelves and folders that have seen better days, but they have all the information I need. Sometimes I’ll take a break and just look out the window at the people walking by below. It’s a very local way of doing things, very direct and without any of the extra polish you find in the city center. Ghatkopar has its own charm, and being right here feels like being in the heart of a community where everyone is just trying to make a living. It’s not complicated, and I prefer it that way, just keeping things moving one day at a time.
