Nayna Sakpal

It is pretty quiet in the mornings here at Deonar Municipal Colony. Nayna Sakpal started things in room twenty-one of the E/10 building quite some time ago. It is just a small place in Govandi, really. Most days you will find someone sitting near the door working on whatever needs doing. We don't have a big fancy office with glass walls or anything like that. It is just a regular room where we keep our supplies and take care of the paperwork. Sometimes the neighbors stop by to chat while we are busy. Mumbai can be very loud, but this corner stays mostly manageable. We have been in this spot for a while now and everyone around knows where to find us. If you are walking through the colony, it is easy to miss if you are not looking for the number. We handle the daily tasks as they come. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped when there is a lot of work to sort through. The fan hums all day and we just keep at it. It is not a corporate setup, just Nayna and a few others getting through the list. We don't have a receptionist. If the phone rings, whoever is closest picks it up. We like it this way because it feels real. Govandi has its own rhythm and we are just a part of that. There is no big secret to how we operate, we just show up and do the work.
