Narendra

Our place is tucked away on the first floor of Block 1 and 2 over at Madhav Wadi. If you are heading down Naigaon Cross Road in Dadar East, you will find us at 102/I. It is one of those typical Mumbai spots where the stairs are a bit narrow and you have to know where you are going. We have been operating under the name Narendra for quite some time now. It’s not a large setup, just a couple of rooms where we keep our supplies and handle the daily chores. Dadar is always crowded, so getting here can be a bit of a challenge if you are relying on the trains, but it’s central for everyone. We usually arrive around nine and stay until the work is finished. The windows look out toward the street, and there is always something happening outside. We don’t have fancy decorations on the walls, mostly just calendars and notes pinned up so we don’t forget things. It’s a busy life here, but we like the pace. Sometimes we sit on the old wooden chairs and talk about how much the area has changed since we first started. The old buildings are still there, but the shops on the ground floor seem to change every few months. We just keep our heads down and focus on the tasks at hand, making sure the lights are off before we lock up at night. The dust from the road comes in, but we just wipe it off and continue.
