Mumbai Tyres

Mumbai Tyres has been sitting at 12 Grant Road 1st Cross for a long time. We are situated very close to Kismat Cinema, so you can often hear the muffled sounds of the movies or see the crowds gathering for the evening shows while we are out here working. The 1st Cross is a busy little section and there is always someone honking or trying to squeeze a rickshaw past. It’s a bit of a dusty job, handling old rubber and rims all day, but it is what we know. The shop isn't much to look at, just stacks of tires piled up against the walls and the smell of new and old rubber filling the air. Sometimes the monsoon rains flood the street a bit, and we have to move everything inside quickly. We don't have a big office or a place for people to sit, most just stand around and chat while the work gets done. It’s a local neighborhood spot, and we know most of the taxi drivers who pass through here regularly. Life on Grant Road is fast, and we just try to keep up with the pace. We aren't doing anything special, just changing tires and fixing punctures like we have done since the beginning. It’s honest work and keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday, usually until the street lights come on.
