Mukesh Novelty

Mukesh Novelty is our little shop located in Antop Hill, Borivali East. We are at number 6 in the Om Saidham building, right across from the Saibaba Mandir. Because we’re near the temple, we get a lot of people stopping in after they finish their prayers. We sell all sorts of small things like toys, hair clips, and little gifts. It’s the kind of place where kids like to linger and look at everything on the shelves. The shop is quite small, so it feels a bit stuffed with all the different items we carry. We don't have a computerized billing system or anything like that. I just write everything down in a notebook. Sometimes the street outside gets very loud during festivals, but we enjoy the energy. My wife helps me out in the evenings when it gets busy after school lets out. We try to keep a variety of things so there’s something for everyone who walks in. The shelves are a bit dusty sometimes because there’s so much to clean, but we do our best. It’s just a local business we started to stay busy and serve the people in the neighborhood. There is a school nearby, so we get a lot of students coming in for pens and notebooks in the morning. We aren't looking to expand into a big chain. We just like having our own spot where we can chat with the neighbors.
