Mouldcraft Industries

Our place is inside the Damji Shamji Industrial Estate on LBS Marg. If you know Vikhroli West, you know it’s a hub for small and medium workshops. Mouldcraft Industries has been operating out of unit number 1 for a good while. The machines make a lot of noise, but you get used to it after the first hour. We do a lot of moulding work here. It’s mostly technical stuff, looking at designs and trying to get the shapes right. The floor is usually covered in some scrap or tools that someone forgot to put back. We try to keep things moving. Dealing with LBS Marg traffic is probably the hardest part of the day. Getting supplies in and out takes some patience. Inside the shop, we have a small team. Everyone knows their job. We don’t have a big reception area or anything like that. If someone visits, they usually just talk to us right by the workbench. It’s practical. We handle different types of materials depending on what the job requires. Some days we are busy with one big order, other days it's lots of small bits and pieces. We don't spend much time on the computer unless we have to. Most of the work is hands-on. It’s a bit hot in the summer because of the machines, but we keep the fans going. We just do the work and go home.
