Mohd Sajid Ali

You can find me at Ekta Society, which is on Gilbert Hill Road in Andheri West. I’m in Building A, Flat 605, on the sixth floor. My name is Mohd Sajid Ali, and this is where I’ve set up my base of operations. The address is C/O Moin Khan, who has been helpful in getting me settled here. Andheri is always a chaotic place to be, and Gilbert Hill is no exception with all the people and the steep roads. From the sixth floor, I get a bit of a breeze, which is nice because Mumbai stays humid almost all year round. The office itself is just a regular flat that I’ve converted for work use. I have a couple of desks, a printer that sometimes jams, and a lot of storage boxes for all the records. It’s not the kind of place you’d see in a magazine, but it’s real and it’s where the work happens. I spend a lot of time on the phone or working through spreadsheets. The building is quite busy, and the lift can be slow, so I’ve learned to be patient with it. I don't have a big marketing budget or a team of experts. It’s just a small-scale effort where I handle the details myself. People who know me know that I stay here until the work is done, often late into the evening. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living in a very busy city, focusing on the basics and staying busy every single day.
