Metallurgical Testing Laboratory Services

We're tucked away in Shop No 3 of the Hira Building on Girgaon Canal Road. If you know Jasoda Nagar, you know it gets quite crowded around here. The lab itself is full of machines and metal samples. We spend most of the day looking at pieces of steel or iron, checking if they are what they're supposed to be. It’s quiet work mostly. There’s always the sound of some machine humming in the background. We have to wear these coats and sometimes it gets hot because the ventilation isn't perfect in this old building. People bring us bolts, plates, and odd bits of machinery to test. Sometimes the samples are heavy and we have to clear off the bench to make room. The paperwork takes a lot of time too. We sit at the old wooden desk and write down numbers from the gauges. It's not glamorous at all. There are stacks of files from years ago in the corner. Sometimes the lights flicker a bit when the heavy equipment starts up. We’ve been on the first floor here for a long time. The stairs are a bit steep if you’re carrying a heavy box of samples. We just do the testing and give people the data. It's practical stuff. We don't have a big sign outside, just the one by the door. Most folks find us because they need to know if their metal is strong enough. It’s just what we do every day. It's a living and it keeps us busy enough.
