I work out of room A/201 in the Maruti Industrial Estate. This is in Avon Plaza Number 1, over in Thakur Complex, Kandivali East. If you are looking for the place, it is right near the Avenue Hotel. My office is pretty simple, just a desk, some chairs for visitors, and stacks of insurance forms. I have been helping people with their insurance for quite some time now. People usually come to me because they are confused about the fine print in their policies. We sit down and go through the papers together. I explain what the different terms mean without using too much jargon. It is mostly about life insurance, health plans, and car insurance. I do not have a big staff or a fancy reception area. It is just me. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook, especially when renewals are due. I try to keep track of everyone’s dates so they do not lose their coverage. It is a lot of record-keeping and checking boxes. People from the nearby apartments often drop by to ask a quick question or to drop off a cheque. I like being in this part of Kandivali because it is a busy area and I get to see my neighbors often. It is not a corporate office; it is just a local place where you can get your insurance sorted out without a lot of fuss. I have lived around here for years, so I know most of my clients.
