Our spot is Flat 408 in Chetna Apartments. Being on J P Road in Andheri West means there is always noise outside, especially near 7 Bunglows. Mumbai is just like that. We have been running Mckinsey Company from this flat for some time. It’s a bit cramped when everyone is in at once, but we make it work. The sea isn't far away, though you can't see it from our windows. Mostly we see other buildings and the metro line. The monsoon gets a bit tricky here with the leaks in the stairwell, but the office stays dry. We keep a small kettle for tea and usually order lunch from the place downstairs. It’s a very local way of doing things. People often miss the turn for Chetna because the sign is a bit small. We don't have a big staff, just a handful of us who know the routine. The desks are a bit old and the chairs creak, but it feels like home in a way. Dealing with the traffic on J P Road is probably the hardest part of the day. Once you are inside 408, it’s just about getting through the tasks. We handle the paperwork and the day-to-day stuff without much fuss. It’s a practical space. We don't spend money on fancy decorations because we'd rather just do the work and go home to avoid the rush hour. It is just a normal office in a busy city, and we are fine with that.
