Our office is on the 4th floor of the A Wing in the Sakivihar Complex. If you’ve been to Sakinaka in Mumbai, you know how busy the Sakivihar Road gets with all the trucks and cars constantly moving. It’s a bit of a climb if the lift is busy, but we’re used to it by now. The office is just a regular room filled with some old filing cabinets and a few computers that have seen better days. Being in human resources here means we spend a lot of time talking to people on the phone or meeting them at the door. It isn't glamorous work, and the office reflects that. We have some plastic chairs for visitors and a water cooler that makes a loud glugging noise every ten minutes. We don't have a marketing department or anyone to write fancy slogans for us. We just help people find work or sort out their paperwork. Mumbai is a fast city, but inside our four walls, we try to keep things moving at a steady pace without getting too stressed out. The rain in the monsoon makes the windows leak a little, so we put some old newspapers down and keep working. We aren't trying to change the world; we’re just making sure people get their contracts signed and their questions answered. It’s a practical business run by regular people who live around here.
