Our office is located in Lalvani Mansion over in Chira Bazar, Mumbai. It is one of those old buildings with a lot of character, though the stairs can be a bit of a climb if you aren't used to them. We have been at number 16 90 for a while now, and the room is mostly filled with tall stacks of paper and old wooden desks. Chira Bazar is a very traditional part of the city, so there is always something happening on the streets below our windows. We spend a lot of our time going through documents and talking to people on the phone. It isn't a high-tech office with fancy glass walls; it is more of a practical place where we can actually get things done. The fans hum overhead all day, and we usually have the windows open to catch whatever breeze comes through from the sea. Sometimes clients come in and we have to clear off a chair for them to sit down because there is just so much paperwork everywhere. We don't really bother with expensive marketing or trying to look bigger than we are. We are just a small group of people who know how to handle the administrative side of things. Lunch usually comes from one of the nearby stalls, and we eat right at our desks most days. It is a bit cramped and definitely old-fashioned, but it works for us. We just focus on the task at hand and try to stay organized.
