Our shop is at 49 Ranchod Bhuvan, right across from Tiwari Sweets on J.S.S. Road. It is a busy spot in a very old part of the city. We have been dealing with gems and stones here for many years. The building itself has a lot of character, and we like being across from the sweet shop because the smell of snacks sometimes wafts over. It is not a high-end boutique with white carpets. It is a traditional place where you can sit down and look at stones under a lamp. I work here with my son, and we do most of the work ourselves. People come in from all over to see what we have, or sometimes they bring their own pieces to be looked at. J.S.S. Road is always full of life, and our shop is just a small part of that. We keep a lot of our stuff in old wooden drawers. It might look a bit disorganized to an outsider, but we know exactly where every stone is kept. We do not believe in using big advertisements to get people in. Most of our work comes from word of mouth or people just walking by and stopping in because they saw something in the window. We spend our days grading stones and talking to old friends who drop by for a chat. It is a simple, steady way to live. We just keep the lights on and the door open.
