Malayala Manorama

Our little spot here at A 404 on Nepean Sea Road is where we spend most of our time. It’s tucked away in Lower Parel, which is always buzzing with people and cars. Working at Malayala Manorama means there is always something going on, even if it’s just the sound of someone typing away or the phone ringing in the background. We aren't a huge flashy operation in this specific office; it feels more like a small group of people trying to keep things moving. The elevator in the building sometimes acts up, so we end up taking the stairs more often than we’d like. It keeps us fit, I guess. You can see a bit of the street from the window, and it's nice to watch the city go by when things get a bit quiet in the afternoon. We have some old desks and chairs that have been with us for a long time. They aren't the most comfortable, but they have character. Most of the day is just spent sorting through news or dealing with the logistics of getting things printed and out the door. It gets hectic around deadline time, but we usually manage to pull it together. Sometimes we stay late and order food from the place around the corner. It's just a regular workplace with regular people. We don’t have fancy coffee machines or anything, just a kettle and some tea bags for anyone who needs a break.
