My legal office is situated at 6A 201 on Amrut Keslav Naik Marg. It’s a decent spot, though finding a parking space nearby can be a bit of a challenge some days. I’ve been practicing law for a long time, and this office has become like a second home to me. The shelves are packed with law books that I’ve collected over the decades. They have that old paper smell that I’ve grown to like. My name is Mahendra Kumar Bajpal, and I’m usually here from early morning. I find that I get my best thinking done before the rest of the city wakes up and the noise on the street begins. The office isn't very modern; I still use a lot of physical files and handwritten notes. It helps me remember the details of each case better than a screen ever could. Clients often sit in the two chairs across from my desk, and we go over their papers. Sometimes the meetings go long, and we end up drinking several rounds of tea while we talk. I don’t have a flashy reception area or a big staff. It’s mostly just me handling the legal work and answering the phone myself. The building is a bit older, and the elevator can be temperamental, so I often just take the stairs for the exercise. It’s a quiet life of reading, writing, and talking to people about their problems. I just try to be helpful.
