Maharaja Merchandise

Our shop is actually inside the Oberoi Towers at Nariman Point. We are in shop number F-73/74. Nariman Point is a very famous part of the city with all the big buildings and the sea nearby, but our shop is just a small, busy space where we sell our merchandise. It’s a different world inside the towers compared to the streets outside. We have glass counters and shelves full of items that we spend all day organizing and showing to people who walk in. Some days it is very quiet, and we just sit and talk or tidy up the displays. Other days, we are constantly busy with customers. We have a small back room where we keep the extra stock and where we make our tea. It’s a bit cramped back there, but it works for us. Working in a place like Oberoi Towers means we see all sorts of people, from tourists to businessmen in suits. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just open the shop, turn on the lights, and wait for the day to start. The commute to Nariman Point is long for most of us, but we’ve been doing it for so long it’s just a habit now. We don't try to be something we aren't. We just run our shop, keep our records straight, and hope for a good day of sales.
