You can find us in Mumbai at 53 55 Khambata Chawl, right in the middle of Mugbhat Lane. Our space is Room No 16 on the first floor. Working in a chawl is different from those big glass buildings you see in other parts of the city. It is a bit cramped and the walls have seen a lot of history. Mugbhat Lane is narrow and always has something going on, whether it is someone delivering goods or neighbors chatting. We have been at Maersk India Pvt Ltd here for some time now. The first floor isn't a long climb, which is good because the stairs are old. Inside, we have our desks squeezed in, and it gets a bit noisy with the sounds of the street coming through the windows. It’s a very local atmosphere, and we know the other people in the building by name. We don't have fancy air conditioning that works all the time, so we rely on the fans. Sometimes the rain in Mumbai makes things a bit damp, but we just carry on. It is a humble spot, nothing like a corporate headquarters, just Room 16 where we handle our daily tasks. We take our tea breaks together and watch the busy life of Mumbai pass by right outside our door. It feels more like a community than just a workplace. We have a small corner for files and a few computers that have seen better days.
