Madhumathi Ramachandran

I’m Madhumathi Ramachandran and I’ve set up my workspace at 06-Henna on Robert Road, right near the R.C. Church in Colaba. Being in South Mumbai, there’s so much history around us, but my office is just a regular room with a lot of papers and books. It’s not a big corporate firm with a reception desk or a fancy coffee machine. We just have a kettle and some basic furniture. I started this because I wanted to work for myself after years of being in the city’s busy corporate world. Now, I handle things at my own pace, though it’s still quite a lot of work. The neighborhood is beautiful, with the old buildings and the sea breeze, but it can be a bit of a struggle with the old wiring and the lack of parking. We don’t have any fancy titles here. We just do what needs doing, whether it’s answering calls or sorting out complicated files. It’s a small team, and we all pitch in on everything. We don’t have a big advertising budget or a social media manager. People usually find us because they know someone who knows us. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living. We aren't looking to become a huge brand. Just being able to work in Colaba and provide a steady service to those who need it is enough for me.
