Madhav Dattatraya Tambekar

My name is on the door here at Mahim Center Street 92. Being Madhav Dattatraya Tambekar in this part of Mumbai means you get used to the constant hum of the city and the smell of the sea sometimes. This place has been my base for a long time. It is a small room with a heavy wooden desk and some chairs that have seen better days. I don't really have a big staff, just a couple of people who help out with the paperwork and the errands when things get too busy. The street outside is always busy with people going to the station or grabbing food from the vendors. We get a lot of sunlight in the mornings, which is nice, but it gets quite warm by noon. I usually keep the windows open to let the air in, even if it brings in the dust and the car horns. My work involves a lot of reading and writing, mostly dealing with the local community and whatever problems they bring to my desk throughout the week. There is no website or fancy brochures here. If people want to find me, they usually just walk in or ask someone on the street because everyone knows where 92 is. I have a lot of old files stacked in the corner because I hate throwing things away. You never know when you might need an old record from ten years ago for a case. It’s a bit old-fashioned, I guess, but it works for me. The tea is always strong.
