M S T J Stock Broking operates out of Shanti Apartment in Kandivali West. We are in the E block, room 703, right on Mathuradas Extension Road. Working in stock broking in Mumbai means things are usually moving pretty fast. We spend a lot of our time watching the screens and keeping track of the market movements. It’s a busy job, but being in a residential apartment building keeps things from feeling too much like a cold corporate office. We know our neighbors and the guys downstairs. It’s a regular Mumbai lifestyle where work and home aren't always that far apart. We handle trades and help people with their accounts. It’s not magic; it’s just a lot of watching numbers and staying updated with the news. Sometimes the phones don't stop ringing, especially when the market is doing something unexpected. We don't have a big sales team or people cold-calling you. We just do the work for the clients who have been with us for years. Kandivali is a crowded place, and Mathuradas Road is always buzzing, but once you get up to the seventh floor, it’s a bit quieter. We’ve got our computers set up and we just get on with it every morning when the bell rings. It’s a straightforward business and we try to keep the jargon to a minimum when we talk to people.
