Lucky Novelty

Lucky Novelty is tucked into 7 Shri Ram Niwas in the Bhandup West area. It is a busy neighborhood where everyone seems to be in a hurry to catch the local train. Our shop is not very large, so things are stacked pretty high on the shelves. You have to watch your head sometimes when you walk through the middle aisle. We open up early because the morning air is cooler and it gives us time to arrange the stock before the crowds pick up. The floor is old tile and it has some cracks from moving heavy boxes over the years. We spend a lot of our time just chatting with the neighbors who stop in to say hello or ask about the weather. Usually, the afternoons are slow when the sun is hitting the front window, so we just sit under the fan and wait it out. We do not use a computer for everything, so there are still plenty of handwritten notes and ledgers lying around the desk. Bhandup has changed a lot since we started, with new buildings going up everywhere, but our little corner feels mostly the same as it always did. We try to keep the place organized, but with so many small items, it can get a bit cluttered by the end of the week. It is just how a local business works when you have been in one spot for this long.
