Level 7

Level 7 is down in Santacruz East, specifically at number 13 on the Main Road near Munnabhai Lakadawala Chawl. It is a very lively area, to say the least. There is always something going on outside, whether it is someone moving furniture or kids playing in the lane. Our shop is small, and we have to be very organized to make everything fit. If you are tall, you might have to duck a bit when you come through the door. We have been here for a while and the walls have a few scuffs from moving crates around every morning. We don't have a fancy interior designer or anything like that. We just put up some shelves where they were needed. The humidity in this part of Santacruz can be tough, so we have two old fans that we keep running at full speed. Most of our customers are locals who live in the chawl or the nearby buildings. They drop in to buy what they need and usually stay for a few minutes to chat about the weather or the local news. We don't really use a computer for anything; we just write things down in a big ledger at the end of the day. It is old-fashioned but it works for us. We just try to keep the stock fresh and the prices fair for the people who live around here. It is a busy, messy, honest kind of life.
