Latin Marble

Latin Marble is located on Bhandarkar Road in Mumbai. This is where we keep all our stone and different slabs for people to see. If you walk into our yard, you’ll see stacks of marble everywhere. It’s a bit of a messy business because cutting and moving stone creates a lot of dust, but we try to keep it somewhat tidy for visitors. We’ve been working with marble for a long time and we know which pieces look good once they are polished up for a floor. Most of the time, I’m out here moving heavy pieces around or showing someone the different colors we have in stock. People come to us when they are building a new house or fixing up a kitchen. We don't have a fancy showroom with bright lights; you just see the stone as it is, sitting out in the open air. Bhandarkar Road is a decent place for a business like ours to be. We get a lot of contractors and regular homeowners stopping by to see what’s new in the yard. It’s heavy work, and our hands are always a bit rough from handling the sharp edges. We don't do much advertising; usually, people just see our sign on the road or hear about us from someone else on the block. We just focus on getting the right cuts for the customers who need them. It’s a straightforward trade and we enjoy the feeling of the stone.
