Kumar Enterprises

You will find Kumar Enterprises over in the Kalbadevi area of Mumbai. We are in the Round Building, specifically on the first floor at No. 453, Chikchal House. Kalbadevi Road is one of those places that feels like it has been there forever. The streets are very narrow and always full of people moving goods on wooden handcarts. Our building is an old one, with those high ceilings and thick walls that help keep the rooms a bit cooler during the hot summer months. Chikchal House has a lot of history, and you can see it in the way the windows and doors are built. We have been working out of this space for quite a long time now. It is a bit of a climb up the stairs, but it is worth it for being in such a central location. We deal with various trading activities, so the office is often filled with product samples and old ledgers. It is definitely not a modern setup. We use old wooden cabinets and desks that have probably been passed down through a few owners. There is a constant hum from the ceiling fans and the noise of the traffic from the street below. We know most of the other business owners in the building. We often share tea and talk about how the market is doing. It is a very traditional way of doing business, based on knowing people and showing up every day. We don't use much technology. Most of our work is done through face-to-face conversations.
