If you look for us at Jai Mahal in Lohar Chawl, you’ll see how busy this part of town is. Express Commercial Corporation is tucked away in Office No. 8-A on the 20/48 stretch. It’s a typical old building in the Jay Mahal Estate area. The stairs are narrow and people are always moving boxes up and down. We’ve been operating from here for a bit, dealing with various commercial goods that come through the market. It’s loud outside with the street noise and the vendors, but inside it’s just us and our ledgers. The office has that old-school feel with high ceilings and heavy wooden doors. We spend our mornings checking orders and talking to suppliers on the phone. Sometimes the power flickers, but we just get on with it. There isn't much space for anything extra, so every corner has something stacked in it. We know the other shop owners around here pretty well. We usually get our tea from the same guy who’s been walking the halls for years. It’s a practical place for a commercial business. We don't put on any acts here; it’s just about getting the daily tasks done and making sure the inventory is right. The neighborhood is crowded, but it’s where all the action is for what we do. It’s honest work in a very traditional part of the city.
