Our office is up on the 7th floor, unit 702, in the Divya Ratna Apartment on Bhardawadi Road. Being in Andheri West, we are right in the thick of things in Mumbai. The traffic on Bhardawadi Road is almost always a total mess, so most of us try to get in early just to avoid the worst of the honking. The Kpmg sign isn't very big at all, so you really have to look closely at the building directory when you first arrive. It’s an apartment-style office, which actually makes it feel a bit more comfortable and a lot less like a cold, glass corporate building. From the 7th floor, you get a decent view of the rooftops and the constant flow of people down below. The elevator is small and sometimes takes forever to arrive, so we’ve all learned how to be patient. Inside, we have a pretty tight-knit team. We’re usually busy with phone calls or a lot of paperwork, and there is always someone fixing the printer or looking for a stapler that went missing. It’s a functional space where we focus on getting things right. We don't have any high-tech gadgets or fancy lounge areas. It’s just a place to come and work. At the end of the day, we lock up and head back out into the humid Mumbai evening. It’s a bit chaotic outside, but our little spot on the 7th floor is where we get it done.
