Kongpoush

We are over at Jay Bharat Compound, unit 201, on the New Link Road in the IBM Estate area. It’s an industrial compound, so it’s not exactly the first place you’d look for a kitchen. Finding us can be a little tricky if you don't know the way through the gates, but once you’re inside, it’s a different world. We specialize in the kind of food we grew up with, using recipes that have been passed around our family for years. We aren't professionals who went to big schools. We just learned by watching our elders and practicing until we got it right. The space is functional rather than pretty. We have big stoves and lots of heavy pots because that’s what the cooking requires. It gets quite loud when the fans are on and the orders are coming in. We don't spend money on fancy flyers or commercials. Most people find us because someone told them about a meal they had here. The New Link Road is always jammed with traffic, but back here in the compound, it’s mostly just the sound of deliveries and people working. We stay busy with the cooking and the prep work, which takes up most of our hours. It’s a long day, every day, but we are used to it by now. We just want to serve honest food in a simple way without any of the usual city fuss.
