K.K. Doshi & Company

Our office, K.K. Doshi & Company, is located at room 405 in Dharam Palace. We are right on N.S. Patkar Marg, which is a busy spot in this part of town. The building is one of those places that everyone in the trade knows. We’ve been here for many years, and the office hasn't changed much in all that time. We have our desks, our safes, and the usual equipment we need for the diamond business. It isn't a place for showing off. We just come here to work. The fourth floor is usually quite busy with people moving between different offices. Sometimes the lift takes forever, so we just take the stairs if we aren't carrying anything heavy. Our day starts early and we usually stay until the work is finished. We don't have any corporate manuals or big fancy slogans. We just try to handle each day as it comes. Most of our clients are people we have known for decades, so there is a lot of trust involved. We spend a lot of time on the phone or just quietly sorting through our stock. It’s a lot of concentration, but we enjoy it. The tea man comes by twice a day, and that’s a good time to take a break. We are just a regular business doing regular work in a very old and busy building. We don't see any reason to make it more complicated than that.
