If you're heading down Tilak Road in Ghatkopar East, you’ll find me at 27 Prabhu Krupa on the second floor. My name is Kishore M Lalan. Living and working in Mumbai means things are always moving fast, but up here on the second floor, it’s a bit more manageable. I’ve lived in this city my whole life, and setting up shop here felt like the right move. Prabhu Krupa is a familiar building to most people in the neighborhood. It’s not one of those new glass towers you see popping up everywhere. It’s got a bit of history to it. I spend most of my mornings getting through the mail and catching up on whatever needs doing. Being on Tilak Road means there’s always noise from the street, but you get used to it after a while. It’s the sound of the city, I guess. I don’t have a lot of fancy furniture or a big sign. Most people find me through word of mouth or because they’ve known my family for years. I like keeping it that way. It’s more relaxed. You won’t get any corporate talk from me when you come by. We’ll just sit down and talk about what needs to happen. I try to keep my hours regular, but sometimes work spills over into the evening. That’s just how it goes when you’re running your own thing in Mumbai. It is hard work but it is worth it.
